From April 25th to May 3rd takes place in Lignano the 23rd “Lignano in Fiore”.

During these two weeks the Hemingway Park of Lignano Sabbiadoro presents the traditional spring festival, where flower’s colours and scents and the children’s smiles are the the leitmotiv. A lot of shows of sports clubs and cultural associations brighten up the days from morning till afternoon, while the evenings are reserved to appreciated discussions and debates about children and teenagers.

In addition to the several gazebos with flowers and gardening accessories, Lignano in Fiore offers also a lot of gastronomical stands coming from all Italy, but especially stalls with handmade objects and older children’s toys of Lignano: the money raised are donated to the regional Agmen and to other territorial and national associations.

It is not to forget that Lignano in Fiore is led by a group of volunteers and the festival is born in 1987 from Agmen, the association of parents with children suffering from leukaemia and other tumours. Starting from the needs of sick children and their families, the festival is risen over the year and now it looks after the entire community of Lignano Sabbiadoro.

The “Flower festival” involves the entire community of the seaside resort, from children through drawing competitions and a stand with their older toys, to the old people that contribute with their handmade objects and the presence in the gastronomical big tent and in the organization of the event. A lot of families take advantage of this festival and of the first warm rays of sunshine to spend a short holiday in Lignano, in the apartments of Lignano Pineta near the Hemingway Park in the green pine wood.

A stroll on the beach in the early morning and an afternoon in the green park between shows and music in the open air allow tourists to enjoy the spring in Lignano and the welcome of its community, that every year involves itself to make Lignano in Fiore a more richer festival, characterized by flowers, children and solidarity.
